Dubai facility accredited for data generation & personalisation of eSIM
27 March 2019, Dublin/Dubai: Workz Group, the mobile and IoT solutions provider has been certified by the GSMA’s Security Accreditation Scheme (SAS) for secure data generation and personalisation of embedded SIMs for consumer and machine-to-machine (M2M) devices. Personalisation refers to the upload of the SIM’s unique information to its smart chip. Workz is one of only six eSIM providers in the world to carry this accreditation and possesses the first certified production facility in the Middle East and Africa.
It is projected by McKinsey that eSIM devices will reach 1.4 billion connections worldwide by 2020. Yet despite this growth, security remains a primary concern with Kaspersky reporting that over 12 million smart devices were attacked in 2018. To protect against such threats, Workz’ certification as an eSIM manufacturer (EUM) is part of its continued commitment to data security. The company has previously been GSMA SAS-certified for eSIM production and ISO for information security.
