Shortlisted in the category ‘Best Consumer Mobile Service’ for mTicketing Services in Bangladesh

Kenya/Nigeria, February 13, 2013: Comviva, the global leader in providing mobile financial and VAS solutions, today announced that it has been nominated for the most popular GSMA  Global Mobile Awards under the “Best Consumer Mobile Service” category for its mobiquity® mTicketing services to Bangladesh Railways in collaboration with country’s two leading mobile service providers. The winner will be announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday 26th February 2013.

Comviva’s mobiquity® mTicketing solution allows consumers to quickly and conveniently book and buy intercity train tickets using their mobile phone. Users can either purchase the ticket using their stored wallet account or over the counter at an authorized operator outlet. On buying the ticket, the customer receives an e-ticket number via SMS, which can be redeemed for a physical ticket at the railway station or an authorized retail outlet.
