A 5G blockchain eSIM technology jointly developed by China Unicom, Gotell and Webank was officially approved by the GSMA organization and officially released on April 20, 2020. This technology combines eSIM and blockchain technology to perform strong encryption on data collection of IoT connected devices. Together with digital signature and identity verification, this technology ensures that IoT devices have a trusted and reliable data connection, providing trusted sales of IoT devices.
The core of this technology is to use eSIM in IoT devices to securely store cryptographic algorithms and cryptographic keys related to blockchain. When IoT device activates eSIM, it is necessary to provide an cryptographic key, which can be used as a unique identification of the data source to protect the device from third-party attacks.
