As part of the GSMA’s Connected Women Commitment Initiative, Tigo Chad have made commitments in both mobile internet and mobile money. They have committed to increase the proportion of women connected to the Internet from 5% to 10% and that of women using electronic money “Tigo Cash” from 1% to 10% by the year 2020.

“Like the GSMA Tigo Chad is committed to the critical role of women in the sustainable development of all countries. Currently too many women are excluded from accessing the internet or electronic money, due to external factors such as illiteracy, low purchasing power or adverse social pressure. We have a strong historic record in addressing this issue through a range of initiatives such as training, special offers and discounted rates. Our decision to sign the GSMA Connected Women initiative builds on this strong record and underlines our commitment to ensure digital and financial inclusion for all Chadian women.”
