El Salvador, Honduras | Humanitarian

The problem

El Salvador & Honduras are two of the most violent countries that are not at war, with sky-high rates of gender-based violence. Those fleeing violence do not know of the support and response services available to help them, placing them at further risk for future harm and displacement. CuentaNos.org addresses this problem.

The company

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives.

Project description

CuentaNos.org is an interactive platform, placing life-saving and life-sustaining information for those affected by violence. Users are empowered to seek services based on their needs, location or future destination in-country through a dynamic map that offers information on services such as protection, shelter, health, education and legal assistance. CuéntaNos serves multiple purposes: helping people in high-risk situations get assistance in their moments of crisis, as well as serving as a case management and referral tool for local organisations. Currently in El Salvador, the project will expand CuéntaNos to Honduras and Guatemala, whilst establishing a safe space centre in El Salvador, complementing digital access through physical, safe and supported access to timely information.
