Held on Tuesday 25 October 2016, the Mobile for Development Summit features a series of presentations and panel discussions with industry experts, which focus on Mobile Money, Connected Women, Digital Identity and Agriculture. These four topics are a priority for the Mobile for Development programme in India and complement the Mobile 360 – India agenda topics and discussion.

The advent of the new payments banks regime presents a renewed opportunity for new disruptive providers to scale up mobile money services to deliver on financial inclusion goals in India. As the new payments banks gear up to go to market with a viable business case, new directions and questions have emerged. In this session, the Mobile Money Programme will address the regulatory, financial, and commercial opportunities for the payments banks and explore the key considerations and experiences with a panel discussion among relevant policymakers, providers, and experts.
