Development Workshop Angola and their technology partner SeeSaw received a Seed grant from the M4D Utilities Innovation Fund in January 2014 to test two mobile tools to drive maintenance and accountability for improved water services in Huambo, Angola. Water point caretakers used a system of free ‘missed calls’ to communicate differential status and staff trialed a mobile application for reviewing and updating water point status in the field. This Case Study outlines the lessons learned by trialling these tools.
