This report looks at the growth of mobile money in Latin America and the Caribbean between 2011 and 2016. Mobile money deployments rose at a faster rate in the region than globally, with all sub-regions enjoying consistent growth. Mobile money still stands to capture a large GSM base in Latin America, but has made great strides in developing a diverse ecosystem. While this has encouraged increased cash digitisation, operators stand to grow their deployments significantly by increasing mobile money activity by 10%.
