EcoEnergyFinance (EEF) received a Seed grant from the M4D Utilities Innovation Fund in January 2014 to validate the viability of EEF’s distribution models for PAYG solar lantern and solar home system (SHS) products in Pakistan. This Case Study outlines the lessons learned by EEF in selling solar products that appealed to radically different customer segments, in adopting mobile money in areas of sparse agent presence and in the value of PAYG technology in encouraging customers to keep up with payments.
