The coronavirus pandemic and remote identity-verification challenges have highlighted how a lack of Digital Identity is having a detrimental impact on the ability of vulnerable populations to access life-enhancing mobile services in their own name. With a focus on women and girls, this session examined the gender gap in identification and how public-private partnerships are accelerating their Digital transformation plans to realise the crucial link between Digital Identity and access to essential (e.g. Health) services through mobile. The session was aimed at policymakers, MNOs and private sector start-ups interested in mobile-enabled solutions and partnerships.
