The GSMA Innovation Fund Start-ups: Meet the Founders Video

The GSMA Innovation Fund drives innovative digital solutions with positive socio-economic or environmental impact in low- and middle-income countries and supports local entrepreneurs on their journey to scale. We believe digital solutions have the power to sustainably reduce inequalities within our world. The Fund seeks to achieve three key outcomes: inclusion, innovation and scale.

The GSMA Innovation Fund has provided five rounds of funding to 30+ start-ups in low- and middle-income countries across Africa and Asia. Their work covers multiple sectors, including Assistive Technology, Digital Inclusion, Digital Utilities, Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation and Climate, and has delivered measurable impact at scale.

As of July 2022, the GSMA Innovation Fund has supported over 100 organisations, who went on to attract over £650 million in additional investments and provide life-enhancing solutions to 37 million people.

As our innovators are continuing to drive impact and growth, we invite you to get to know the Founders and Co-Founders of a selection of our 30+ innovators and discover the impact they are having around the world. In this video, discover: who they are, what problem their business is solving, whom their service is helping and what they need from mobile operators:

The GSMA Innovation Fund is currently funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), the Deutsche Gesellschaft Für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GMBH, and supported by the GSMA and its members.
