Climate change is the most pressing challenge facing humankind. The world has already warmed by more than 1°C since pre-industrial times and the effects of this warming continue to worsen, profoundly affecting lives, livelihoods and nature. Although the impacts are global and felt in every country, low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), will bear a disproportionate share of negative impacts.

Intending to build greater understanding and consensus amongst private and public stakeholders, this report provides an overview of the role of digital and mobile-enabled solutions in addressing climate change and highlights a range of interventions that have great potential to mitigate, adapt and build resilience to climate change in LMICs.

The report discusses seven themes that cover the use of digital technologies in enabling clean energy and energy efficiency; transport, mobility and logistics; natural resource management and forestry; agriculture; managing water solutions; waste management and circular economy solutions; disaster preparedness and response.
