Digital aspirations begin in the classroom

How can schools use digital technology to enhance how students learn? MTN’s Digital Schools initiative has provided thousands of young people around the world with computers, internet access and other equipment.

The Digital Schools help to fill the gap where physical textbooks might not be available and also give students the chance to put technology at the heart of their education. More than 925 Digital Schools have been set up and supported by MTN since 2001 – in Afghanistan, Sudan, Syria, Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa and eSwatini.

As well as enabling young people to broaden their general knowledge and improve their digital literacy, the Digital Schools encourage them to share their new-found skills with family, friends and the wider community. By investing in the digital education of young people in Africa and the Middle East, MTN is inspiring the innovators of the future and helping to bridge the digital divide.
