Exploring the digital world in classrooms across Austria

Digital technology opens up a world of possibilities for young people but there is still some uncertainty about how to use it well. With digital skills training far from established in Austrian schools, Magenta Telekom (part of Deutsche Telekom) launched Connected Kids in 2013.

Managed by well-known educator Dr Paul Kral, the Connected Kids programme has a solid pedagogical foundation. It helps children, teenagers, parents and teachers to enhance their use of digital media by providing guidance and practical exercises. Using tablets in the classroom, students can access apps and other e-learning content, while parents and teachers can find information about social networks and new technologies. such as augmented reality (AR), on the Connected Kids blog.

By the end of the 2017/18 academic year, more than 10,000 students and around 500 teachers across Austria had benefitted from the Connected Kids programme.
