How parents in Denmark are getting up to speed with technology
As the digital world evolves, it is important that parents understand how their children can have safe and positive experiences online. To help families in Denmark, TDC worked with its long-term partner, the children’s welfare organisation Børns Vilkår, to create the Parents in a Digital World initiative.
Børns Vilkår runs the national Childline and Parentline services in Denmark and understands the challenges and concerns facing young people and their families. Parents in a Digital World provides free workshops and webinars so that parents gain a better understanding of their child’s digital spaces and know how to support and guide them on Snapchat, Instagram and other platforms.
By the end of 2018, more than 5,500 parents had taken part in the Parents in a Digital World training programme. In addition to the workshops, TDC and Børns Vilkår provide free online resources for parents so they can continue to build their knowledge about digital participation and safety.
