Spreading the message of digital responsibility across the USA

Technology is transforming the world but it needs to be used responsibly. Building on the success of its #LaterHaters initiative, AT&T supports the not-for-profit organisation WE in the USA. WE Schools is a unique, step-by-step programme that challenges young people to identify the local and global issues that spark their passion and empowers them with the tools to take action.

AT&T has collaborated with WE to provide a classroom resource on the topic of Navigating Digital Responsibility, which teachers can use to start discussions about the positive use of social media and the negative impact of online hate and cyberbullying. The comprehensive lesson plans help students to investigate these important digital issues and decide on a plan of action.

With 14,500 schools and groups involved with WE, AT&T is delivering on its mission to ensure more people understand how to use technology responsibly and positively. As WE’s founders Craig and Marc Kielburger say, “We believe all students will be better connected to each other and their classroom learning when we highlight the importance of preventing and becoming an upstander to online cruelty.”
