Taking a stance on responsible gaming in the Nordics and Baltics

What do young people think about gaming? That was the question posed in a series of workshops by Telia Company, World Childhood Foundation and research company IPSOS in 2019. The company worked with 600 teenagers in seven Nordic and Baltic countries to create 159 animated films about gaming.

The workshops are part of Telia’s Children’s Advisory Panel (CAP) activities. The panel was set up to better understand children’s views on the digital world so that Telia Company can improve how it serves younger users of its technology.

Many of the participants in the CAP workshops in 2019 said they see gaming as having a positive impact on their lives. They were largely aware of the risks and expressed frustration that their parents do not understand gaming and esports. As well as the animated films, Telia Company and Save The Children Finland produced a set of guiding principles for responsible digital gaming and a guide for parents.
