Supporting access to health services and health information

Impact of mobile technology

Every child has the right to the best possible health. Mobile health programmes can support children’s access to a range of services, from vaccinations to HIV treatment. In turn, mobile solutions can help to protect the wider community – by supporting the prevention and management of epidemics, for example.

For the many children who do not have access to essential health services, mobile technology is a game changer. Innovative apps can be used to support health screening and management of chronic diseases, mobile health services can provide information on diet and immunisation and health workers can communicate on-the-go. Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, such as air quality monitors, can also be used to improve the environment.
