Mobile 360 – Middle East will explore connected services in MENA region

It’s already time for our next Mobile 360 Series event: Mobile 360 – Middle East, held in Dubai from 20-21 October.

Now in its third year, the 2015 edition of Mobile 360 – Middle East will focus on how mobile is becoming a platform to launch a range of connected services in areas such as digital commerce, digital identity, digital security and the Internet of Things throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

The two-day conference programme brings together leading executives from across the region’s vibrant mobile ecosystem, including mobile operators, vendors, regulators, vertical industries and other industry experts. Featured speakers include Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar (CEO of Etisalat Group); Dr. Khaled H. Biyari, (CEO of Saudi Telecom Group); and Scott Gegenheimer (CEO of Zain Group).

Sessions include ‘Implementing Smarter Services’ which features speakers from the Industrial Internet Consortium, Pacific Controls and Qualcomm; ‘Creating Customer Value in Digital Commerce’ with experts from PayPal and Visa; and ‘Embracing the IoT Opportunity’ with speakers from Huawei, Ooredoo and Samsung. You can view the full agenda here.

New to Mobile 360 – Middle East this year is the Networking Opportunity Centre (‘The NOC’), which offers expert-led themed discussions on specific topics. Experts will take questions and you can discuss concepts with like-minded delegates. Topics include Policy Frameworks, Virtualisation, Mobile IoT and Monetising Network Traffic.  View The NOC section of the agenda to plan your schedule.Mobile 360 Middle East

In between conference sessions, you can meet some of the GSMA team for hands-on demonstrations of the latest initiatives in mobile. These include: an immersive ‘Inside the Network’ virtual reality display; a look at the mobile operator-facilitated authentication service ‘GSMA Mobile Connect’; an example of enriched calling from the new ‘GSMA All-IP Business Guide’; Etisalat and Huawei’s smart parking sensor that uses the mobile IoT and the mobile payments service ‘Orange Cash’. Furthermore, there is also information about the upcoming WRC-15, the outcome of which will be the single most important factor in determining the future availability of affordable, ubiquitous, high-speed mobile broadband services.

Prior to the conference sessions, the GSMA Connected Living team are running the workshop ‘Realising the Potential of M2M in MENA’ on Monday 19 October, in which participants will have an opportunity to discuss the IoT’s most pressing issues including the deployment of Low Power Wide Area networks, IoT network security and the adoption of an embedded SIM specification.

Finally, the Mobile Connect Summit offers a follow-up opportunity from the first Summit held in May. It will update delegates on operator deployments of Mobile Connect in the region with the opportunity to ask questions, see demos and finish with a networking lunch.

We look forward to having you at the GSMA Mobile 360 Series – Middle East where we will be co-located again with GITEX.
