Spotlight on Innovation at GSMA Mobile 360 Series – Latin America

Whilst the mobile industry globally is already talking about 5G, much of the focus and reality in Latin America today revolves around driving innovation and services over LTE data networks. In fact, a recent GSMA Latin America study found that 10% of the population in the region did not have access to mobile broadband (3G and 4G), and only 33% of the population actively uses mobile broadband. With these figures in mind, the question beckons: How can Latin American operators and partners pave the road to 5G, whilst continuing to improve and expand the existing coverage across the entire region?

GSMA Mobile 360 Series – Latin America, taking place in Mexico City on September 20th – 22nd, will be an opportunity to discuss how the exciting new services, innovation and partnership models in the region is driving mobile penetration in the region.

The event will be an opportunity to hear from the key stakeholders from across the industry. Regional and national CEOs from the largest operators will be sharing their views on developing the telecommunications sector in Latin America and, more importantly, how they can shape and improve people’s lives in the different countries of the region. Mobile Money, Identity, IoT, Connected Cars and Media are just some of the areas that will be discussed during the two day conference sessions.

As the focus of the event is also to highlight, celebrate and encourage entrepreneurship and innovation from Latin America, the event will also feature the exclusive ‘Spotlight on Innovation’ session, during which a series of start-ups from within the region will pitch their start-ups to a group of experts from the likes of Microsoft, UNICEF, Deloitte, Telefónica Open Future among others. The winner of the competition will be invited to share their story and progress at Mobile World Congress 2017, in Barcelona, Spain!
