The focus of this white paper is to identify overload situations that arise in 3GPP networks due to heavy penetration of Smart Phones and tablet PCs due to the applications and services running on them. This paper classifies the various issues into a short list of different categories (for example, Small Data Packet Transmission and Video Services etc.). There is no unique or theoretically correct categorization, as some of the issues may overlap between categories. For the sake of effectiveness, a pragmatic approach is promoted over a theoretical and lengthy debate. <\/p>\n
