The first blog<\/a> in this series looked at the conference activities on the opening day of Mobile World Congress Shanghai. This week, we examine the conference content for the second day of the conference, Thursday, 29 June. With a combination of keynote and focused summits, the day aims to address some of the fundamentals of the digital future society.<\/p>\n

The Day 2 conference will kick off with the keynote session, \u2018Society & the Human Element<\/a>\u2019. This session will examine some of the big issues faced by a society as it gets more connected. This includes concerns over keeping people safe online, securing their personal data, mitigating potential risks of damage to a city or country\u2019s infrastructure and more. Industry and government leaders from Internet Society, The National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, The Next 3B and Yingtan City will explore these issues and share insights into how they are preparing for and responding to this future, on a global basis.<\/p>\n

Following the keynote, the conference will break into four industry-focused summits. This year, for the first time, attendees with an All-Exhibition Pass can upgrade to attend one or more summits during Mobile World Congress Shanghai by visiting the registration page. The Digital Consumer Summit<\/strong> \u2013 With the increasing penetration of digital services, users\u2019 behaviour and their relationship with the ecosystem is evolving rapidly. This summit is designed to address this changing behaviour and its implications on advertisers, brands and governments. The Network Evolution Summit<\/strong> \u2013 The pace of technology change over the past five years has been accelerating. Meanwhile, the projected growth in digital traffic over the next five years will demand an even faster evolution. Operators globally will need to radically transform their processes, procurement, skills base, culture and relationships to profitably solutions-and-impact\/connectivity-for-good\/public-policy\/regulatory-environment\/mobile-energy-efficiencyt the demand for services, and to create new business opportunities. The Global Device Summit<\/strong> \u2013 While the capabilities of high-end smartphones continue to evolve, the global market for such phones is becoming more challenging. This summit will convene leaders from Alibaba, Brightstar, the GSMA, Samsung and more. Join them as they explore developments that are likely to change the dynamics of the device industry, including eSIM, new user interfaces and the growing global market for second-hand smartphones. The IoT Summit<\/strong> \u2013 The final summit of the day will explore the challenges facing enterprise and consumer Internet of Things (IoT) today, including securing the IoT and big data. Join leaders from AT&T, Gemalto, the GSMA, Kore Telematics and others to get a global view on developments in IoT, challenges in scaling the Internet of Things and insights on how to bring the concept to reality.
