The Caribbean Roundtable will be held on September 29, from 9:30 am to 11 am (PDT) at MWC Las Vegas. This is our third event, and it’s your chance to meet, solve problems together, and keep making strides towards achieving digital transformation in the Caribbean.

We are planning to cover the following subjects during the discussion.

  • Spectrum Management
  • Digital Transformation
  • Ecosystem Readiness

Attendance at the Caribbean Summit is by invitation only and will be a physical meeting. A remote option will be provided for attendees that can’t travel to Las Vegas.

The Caribbean Roundtable will be moderated by GSMA North America and 5G Americas.

Speakers

Carlos Bosch

Head of Region, GSMA

With over three decades of experience in the telecommunications industry, Carlos J. Bosch serves as Head of GSMA North America and is responsible for overseeing the adoption and implementation of the GSMA’s technical and strategic programmes and policy in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean. Carlos manages the delivery of the Regional Interest Group (RIG) meetings, a platform for mobile operators to discuss and address region-specific issues, regional approaches to global issues, and coordinates the technical training of both operators and government representatives.

Carlos represents the GSMA to international organisations and government entities such as the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). He is frequently invited to present to public and academic entities such as the University of Georgia, the Government of the City of Atlanta, the Presidency of Peru, the International Telecommunications Union, the White House, 3GPP and the Program of the United Nations for Development.

Prior to joining the GSMA, Carlos worked with fixed and wireless operators and vendors worldwide, on a wide range of services, including network design and system integration, product development and go-to-market testing, operations, and strategy.

Carlos is originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico, and has a BS in Engineering and Applied Mathematics from West Virginia University. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Jose Otero

Vice President , 5G Americas

Mr. Jose Otero has close to three decades of experience working in Latin America and the Caribbean on ICT education and social development, convergence, and digital transformation projects.

His experience includes research on public policy issues for institutions such as The White House, the Caribbean Telecommunications Union, the Senate of the Republic of Chile, the World Bank, and the Inter-American Investment Corporation.

Mr. Otero is a member of the UNDP’s Global Knowledge Index Advisory Board. He is a columnist for El Economista (Mexico) and Canaltech (Brazil). Mr. Otero works as an adjunct instructor at New York University and Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean for 5G Americas. He holds an MSt in Social Innovation from the University of Cambridge.
