GSMA delivers IoT Training in Islamabad with new partner Central Asian Cellular Forum

August 22, 2017 | | Belinda Exelby

GSMA Capacity Building and The Central Asian Cellular Forum held their first training workshop on The Internet of Things (IoT) at the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) headquarters in Islamabad. This was the first course to take place as part of a new strategic agreement to conduct training in the region.
The event was opened by Dr Ismail Shah, Chairman of the PTA. Dr Shah felt the workshop was very timely given that the PTA is in the process of redrafting their regulatory framework. Dr Shah also said “after the launch of 3G/4G services in Pakistan, it is the right time to develop a regulatory framework for IoT; which is the need of the hour.”
The workshop was attended by 40 participants from organisations including Ministry of Information Technology, PTA, Frequency Allocation Board, mobile operators, Wateen Telecom and National Telecommunication Corporation. We look forward to delivering more training in the region in the future. For more information please visit:
