Africa continues to be the fastest growing mobile market in the world. Roaming services, however, are still emerging. Countries within the region are in different stages of economic development, with significant differences in inflation rates, currency exchanges, labour costs and GDP per capita. The GDP per capita in some sub-Saharan African countries can be up to 195 times higher than others in the region.
