Data Privacy at Ministerial Programme

The GSMA’s Mobile World Congress (MWC Barcelona) is the largest mobile event in the world. It will return to Barcelona Spain on 24-26 February 2020.

Every year, the Ministerial Programme forms an integral part of MWC.  It brings together ministers, telecom regulators, data protection authorities, international organisations and industry CEOs from around the world to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the mobile sector. As we consider the future of privacy regulation for a convergent digital world, it is essential that the voices of data protection authorities and experts are heard in this forum.

At Ministerial Programme 2020, data privacy and protection will take centre stage, with a full programme of activities including:

  • A 3-day agenda focused on the digital citizen, with multiple sessions highlighting data privacy;
  • Closed-door roundtables and bilateral meetings with data protection authorities, telecom regulators and industry leaders;
  • Networking opportunities with senior government and industry representatives from around the world; and
  • Tours of the MWC exhibition halls, allowing you to experience innovative products and solutions that will transform our daily lives.
