Case study: Telefónica Germany identifies €1.8 million per year of energy savings with GSMA Mobile Energy Efficiency Optimisation pilot image

Telefónica was keen to improve its ranking in Mobile Energy Efficiency Benchmarking. It became the first mobile network operator to sign up to the GSMA’s MEE Optimisation service, leveraging the combined expertise of the GSMA and Nokia Siemens Networks’ Energy Solutions. The aim was to identify further cost savings in the radio network, in addition to the measures Telefónica Germany was already implementing. This resulted in € 1.8 million per year in cost effective energy savings being identified.
