The content ecosystem is quickly evolving – reshaping competitive and market dynamics. Millennials are leading a shift in usage patterns. The mobile internet is the new channel for content delivery. New players are disrupting established media houses. Investment in producing original content has reached unprecedented levels.

This GSMA Intelligence webinar discusses the evolution of the content ecosystem and what it means for companies in the value chain, including operators.

Part 1 – Content evolution: where is the ecosystem headed?
Pablo Iacopino, Director of Ecosystem Research at GSMA Intelligence, will discuss the key trends shaping the future of content, providing insights on ecosystem dynamics and market drivers. Using data from the GSMA Intelligence Consumer Survey, this section will deep dive into how consumer behaviour is changing and why. He will also provide views on current and future competitive dynamics involving digital platform conglomerates (i.e. Amazon, Google and the Chinese trio BAT), video players (i.e. Netflix and Hulu) and content aggregators.

Part 2 – Operators in content: go big or go small?
In this session Anshu Goel, Senior Analyst Fixed Broadband, Video and Convergence, will evaluate the role and strategies of operators in the content space. He will discuss the six key routes to content, and outline the key considerations for operators when choosing their content strategies. Lastly, he will look at the emphasis on content in a time of growing fixed-mobile service convergence.

Part 3 – Fireside Chat with Edward Ellis, Director of Strategy, BT Consumer
Complementing our presentations on operator content strategies, we will be joined by BT Consumer’s Director of Strategy Edward Ellis to discuss their content strategy, and his views on the future of the media landscape. This session will be moderated by Mark Giles, Director of Ecosystem Data at GSMA Intelligence.
