GeoKrishi<\/a> – GSMA Innovation Fund for Climate Resilience and Adaptation grantee. GeoKrishi helps smallholder farmers adapt to climate stressors and adopt climate-smart agricultural practices through digital learning content and advisory services. GeoKrishi is Nepal\u2019s first fully integrated, data-driven digital agriculture platform designed to help remove the financial, technical and cultural barriers preventing farmers from accessing and using information to improve farm productivity and maximise profitability. The GSMA supported GeoKrishi<\/a> to upgrade their existing system to expand the reach of their bundled smart agricultural solutions. The GSMA grant was also used to build a sustainable public-private-community business model by engaging closely with local government, local service providers and farmer cooperatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In the past we were very confused when our crops were infested with diseases and pests as we did not know how to manage it or where to find remedies. We had multiple problems in paddy, maize and vegetables from grubs to aphids. Now after downloading GeoKrishi, all the services have been available in the touch of our fingers. It feels like a great achievement for us.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Geokrishi prepares us to take immediate steps to prevent crop damage. As an example, if the weather prediction indicates no sun for the next five days, we prepare to protect the tomatoes from blight. We start taking precautionary steps before the disease arrives based on anticipated weather forecast.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
