In February 2019 the Board of the GSMA, comprised of the largest mobile operators in the world, set a milestone ambition \u2013 to transform the mobile industry to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050, at the latest.<\/p>\r\n

How is the mobile industry doing against this ambitious climate target?<\/p>\r\n

This webinar saw the launch of the \u2018Mobile Net Zero \u2013 State of the Industry Report on Climate Action<\/a>\u2019, which is the first evaluation of how the mobile industry is doing against the target set by the GSMA Board.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

During this event Nigel Topping, the UN High-Level Climate Action Champion for COP26, evaluated how the mobile industry compares to other sectors in the \u2018Race to Zero\u2019. There were also be major updates from mobile operators on their commitments to reaching net zero.<\/p>\r\n

The speakers and the panel of industry experts covered net zero and science-based targets, renewable electricity, energy efficiency, supply chain engagement, adaptation and resilience and digital enablement.<\/p>\r\n
