For Ericsson, this means combining long-term climate ambition with concrete, near-term results,&nbsp;both within its own operations and across its global supplier ecosystem.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, Ericsson set a target&nbsp;for&nbsp;350 high-emitting&nbsp;direct strategic&nbsp;suppliers&nbsp;to&nbsp;establish&nbsp;their&nbsp;own 1.5\u00b0C-aligned emission-reduction targets, including a commitment to halve emissions in relevant scopes by 2030.&nbsp;The suppliers, which represent&nbsp;approximately&nbsp;90% of&nbsp;supply chain greenhouse gas emissions, exceeded their targets: a total of 409 suppliers have&nbsp;validated&nbsp;the science-based targets aligned with&nbsp;the&nbsp;1.5\u00b0C&nbsp;target.&nbsp;The overachievement of the&nbsp;supplier climate target reflects several years of structured collaboration.&nbsp;Emphasising&nbsp;the&nbsp;integration of&nbsp;climate expectations into sourcing requirements, supplier scorecards, and ongoing performance dialogue. By aligning supplier targets with&nbsp;its&nbsp;own, Ericsson strengthens its ability to reduce upstream&nbsp;emissions at&nbsp;scale while increasing transparency and resilience in the supply chain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building on this foundation, Ericsson has set&nbsp;a&nbsp;product\u2011level&nbsp;carbon&nbsp;emissions&nbsp;target for 2027, focused on the performance&nbsp;of&nbsp;typical&nbsp;new radio base\u2011station sites, using 2021 carbon emissions as a&nbsp;baseline. The&nbsp;new&nbsp;target addresses&nbsp;cradle-to-gate carbon&nbsp;emissions, aiming for a 50% reduction by 2027.&nbsp;Cradle-to-gate carbon&nbsp;emissions refer to greenhouse gas emissions generated before a product is put into use,&nbsp;covering raw material extraction,&nbsp;component&nbsp;manufacturing, assembly, and transport. As networks expand and&nbsp;modernise, these&nbsp;emissions play an increasingly&nbsp;important role&nbsp;in the total carbon footprint of digital infrastructure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2027&nbsp;cradle-to-gate&nbsp;carbon&nbsp;emission&nbsp;target achievements translates&nbsp;supply-chain&nbsp;and design efforts into measurable outcomes that matter to customers.&nbsp;It captures the reduction potential achieved through the latest hardware generations deployed at typical new sites. Progress is driven by multiple levers: material efficiency, lower-emission materials and processes, supplier decarbonisation, compact product design, and optimised logistics.&nbsp;A consistent and&nbsp;standardised&nbsp;measurement&nbsp;methodology&nbsp;ensures that progress is robust,&nbsp;measurable&nbsp;over time, and suitable for external reporting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together, Ericsson\u2019s validated supplier climate target&nbsp;achievements&nbsp;and its 2027&nbsp;cradle-to-gate&nbsp;carbon&nbsp;emission&nbsp;ambition&nbsp;demonstrate&nbsp;how climate action can move from high-level commitments to tangible impact. For customers, this means access to network solutions with a significantly lower&nbsp;cradle-to-gate&nbsp;carbon footprint,&nbsp;while&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;performance, quality, and reliability.
