Boosting climate resilience for smallholder farmers in the face of growing climate challenges

Resource thumbnail

Climate change continues to stress the global food system with increased climate variability and extremes in temperature and rainfall. As shifting seasonal patterns make climate risks less predictable, and the increased intensity of weather events means the consequences are more severe, digital agriculture services can support agricultural value chain actors to adapt to, anticipate and recover from these climate risks. Weather and climate-smart agricultural advisory services can provide the information needed to adjust and optimise agricultural practices, while financial services such as weather index insurance can provide the safety net required to overcome the effects of an extreme weather event.
