For telecom operators globally, the challenge has shifted from understanding&nbsp;<em>why<\/em>&nbsp;they need AI, to understanding&nbsp;<em>how<\/em>&nbsp;to implement it effectively. How do different foundation models perform against specific telecom nuances? What is the actual difference between a standard chatbot and a truly autonomous &#8220;AI Agent&#8221; in a network operations&nbsp;center?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At GSMA, we believe that to truly unlock the benefits of AI for our industry, we must move beyond theoretical slide decks and into practical application. We recognized early on that the complexity of &#8220;Agentic AI&#8221;\u2014systems capable of autonomous reasoning, planning, and executing tasks across network domains\u2014required&nbsp;a standardized environment for testing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To realize this vision, GSMA partnered with&nbsp;<strong>NetoAI<\/strong>, a leading AI company specialized in building deep-tech AI products and solutions specifically for the Telecom domain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This collaboration has resulted in a robust,&nbsp;state-of-the-art&nbsp;testbed built by&nbsp;NetoAI, which serves as a neutral sandbox for operators. It is designed to demystify the ecosystem, allowing members to see and feel how different models and agents perform against the unique demands of our sector.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The telecom industry cannot afford to adopt AI based on generic benchmarks. We need to know how these systems handle network congestion, how they interpret specific alarm protocols, and how they plan for future capacity,&#8221; said&nbsp;<strong>Louis Powell, Director of AI Initiatives at GSMA<\/strong>, who has spearheaded this program. &#8220;With the GSMA Agentic AI Testbed, we are taking a leadership stance to de-risk AI adoption for our members.
