According to Machina Research, the total global revenue for the Connected Car sector stood at $37.5 billion in 2015, and is predicted to increase massively to $151.8 billion in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, the auto sector took a huge leap in enabling the next generation of connected cars by&nbsp;supporting&nbsp;the GSMA Embedded SIM Specification to underpin vehicle connectivity. This will provide enhanced security for a range of connected services, enable the vehicle to be connected by multiple Operators and allow the selection of local Operators\u2019 connectivity at the vehicle\u2019s country of destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GSMA\u2019s Embedded SIM Specification uses&nbsp;Remote SIM Provisioning&nbsp;technology and therefore enables late stage programming of M2M devices. In the auto sector, this will massively simplify production and will accelerate the growth of the connected car market as a result \u2013 this will of course apply to other sectors that also use M2M and IoT solutions.
