<\/i><\/div>What is the purpose of the logo?<\/div><\/div>
The GSMA NB-IoT Forum agreed that multiple NB-IoT logos may confuse end users. It would be far better for the industry to support the notion of one NB-IoT \u2122 logo. Furthermore, one logo, supported by the GSMA, has the potential to become a universally recognised symbol which easily identifies NB-IoT enabled devices and services. The logo is designed to be suitable for promoting & marketing NB-IoT on an international basis.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/div>Where might you expect to see the logo in use?<\/div><\/div>
Network operators and device manufacturers will determine how and where the logo is deployed. Typical usage includes outer device packaging, in-box literature, online and offline marketing collaterals and events, online service and device communications, service and device advertising.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/div>Can a network operator or a device, module, chipset manufacturer use the logo independently?<\/div><\/div>

The NB-IoT \u2122 logo is intended to be used by either network operators or device, module, chipset manufacturers \u00a0For example:<\/p>\n
\n- A device, module, chipset manufacturer can market a device using NB-IoT \u2122 logo provided that the device, module, chipset supports NB-IoT in 3GPP Release 13 and supports any of the NBx categories; i.e. Cat NB1, Cat NB2, etc.<\/li>\n
- A network operator can market their network using NB-IoT \u2122 logo provided that the networks are supporting NB-IoT technology.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

<\/i><\/div>Is there a cost associated with using the logo?<\/div><\/div>
No. A royalty free license is granted to users who complete the user registration process as outlined below. This allows the use of the NB-IoT \u2122 logo with all products and services that comply with the 3GPP NB-IoT specifications.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/div>What does use of the NB-IoT \u2122 logo mean?<\/div><\/div>
The permission to use the NB-IoT \u2122 logo does not involve or imply any certification by the GSMA or the GSMA members that the products or services of manufacturers or service providers actually comply with the 3GPP NB-IoT specifications. It is intended simply and only to provide a basis of reference for users, network operators and other manufacturers and service providers. The NB-IoT \u2122 logo may be used to show a general or specific compliance with the related specifications. The NB-IoT \u2122 logo shall not be used for products and services that are not in general or specific compliance with the 3GPP NB-IoT specifications.<\/p>\n
