Join us on Monday 23 June, from 14:00 to 15:30 (BST) for our Identity Community Forum #18.

As many companies in our community build the next generation of mobile authentication beyond SMS OTP, also known as Number Verify, we will explore the evolving landscape of phone number verification. Adri Loloci will discuss how Vodafone are improving their Number Verify offering, in order to accelerate next-generation authentication services. Moreover, phone number verification will play a critical role in the identity wallets of tomorrow. In a groundbreaking demonstration of the European Identity Wallet, Deutsche Telekom will report on their success in issuing a user’s mobile number as a Verifiable Credential, streamlining and securing the process of opening a bank account through the European Wallet.

Recognising the progress made so far, we will also launch a GSMA survey to explore the remaining challenges that our community needs to overcome in order for Number Verify to scale.

Finally, we will look at the importance and implications of an ecosystem approach to building digital trust. Numeracle will present a case study from the US on setting up an identity ecosystem for trusted calls.

Our 2025 Mobile Identity vision centres on a unified theme: building digital trust and strengthening identities in an ever-evolving digital world.
