This session took the audience from today’s digital identity landscape to a future vision. First of all, the audience heard Liminal’s perspective on the Digital Identity Landscape in 2023. Their speakers focused on two major trends for this year and beyond, in addition to the analysis of product segment evolutions: the acceleration of passwordless initiatives and the rise of eIDs.
Andrzej Ochocki then shared the identity strategy of Deutsche Telekom Group. In order to participate in the European ID ecosystem, Deutsche Telekom is further expanding on their existing identity assets. Live use cases spanning from automotive to financial services to gambling were described. Andrzej emphasised the significant and distinct role that mobile numbers may play in the European Identity ecosystem: a human-readable verifiable credential with built-in security and lifecycle management.
One of the key takeaways from both presentations was the path that was being drawn from the building blocks of today to the identity solutions of tomorrow.
