Helene Vigue shared GSMA insights on mobile identity momentum. Availability and partnerships are indeed rapidly expanding. The Open Gateway initiative’s announcement highlighted the strategic importance of mobile identity. This framework includes several mobile identity APIs and is designed to provide developers and hyperscalers with universal access to operator networks.
Adri Loloci then demonstrated how Vodafone Identity Hub unlocks the power of Mobile Network APIs. Number Verify provides the next-generation of strong authentication as well as an exceptional user experience. Vodafone is also deploying new products to tackle the growing problem of scams.
Charlie Rowland went on to explain how technologies like Number Verify are helping enterprises and delivering the future of authentication. Prove delivered an impressive 12 billion seamless mobile authentication transactions annually in the US, with results from existing deployments showing substantial business improvement.
Finally, panellists discussed the uniqueness of mobile data for identity, as well as the remaining issues to mainstream adoption. Gautam Hazari shared how Sekura Mobile saw an operator enable the service in 10 days. Marc Gonzalez illustrated how Twilio sees use cases extending beyond the initial interest from financial services. Glyn Povah highlighted Telefonica’s progress in collaboration with other operators, such as exchanging best practices in data protection.
