Mobile network operators China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom have pledged to ensure that\u00a0Mobile Connect will be interoperable in China. As a result,\u00a0the digital identity solution will be available for use on apps and internet services regardless of users’ operator.<\/p>\n
The agreement, which was made at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai seminar \u2018Mobile Connect Development and Cooperation\u2019, was an acknowledgement of the key\u00a0role Mobile Connect will\u00a0play in delivering secure and convenient digital services throughout China.<\/p>\n
The move will\u00a0greatly enhance the appeal of the digital identity solution to the nation’s service providers, many of which\u00a0are seeking\u00a0a secure and\u00a0convenient authentication service.<\/p>\n
Indeed, the\u00a0seminar attracted\u00a0many leading domestic and international service providers\u00a0such as\u00a0financial and payment company, VISA, the gaming and entertainment company, “Xiamen Manlool,” authentication service “network ID Card” and medical applications company, “Chun Yu Yi Sheng”.<\/p>\n
At the event\u2019s GSMA Innovation City, visitors were given the chance to experience a live demonstration of the how the interoperable service -as supported by the country\u2019s three operators- could be used to log-in to an email service.<\/p>\n
Mobile Connect is able to simplify log-in and account management, provide secure authentication and significantly improve user privacy security. Authentication is understood to be crucial component of scaling digital services in China. Operators, with their superior resources, existing network infrastructure, trusted customer relationships and long-term experience, are ideally placed to provide a unified identity solution that both services providers and consumers can trust.<\/p>\n
