Meanwhile, Fibocom, an IoT module provider, launched a new mmWave-based module; and pSemi Corporation, a company focused on semiconductor integration, announced a new switch targeted at mmWave applications.<\/p>\n<p>mmWave is an important element in the 5G technology mix. It can handle large amounts of data at very high speeds and very low latency \u2013 a combination that is appealing for busy and high-traffic residential areas, transport hubs, FWA and private networks. The announcements confirm the maturity of the technology and its strong performance. Verizon\u2019s new FWA receivers, delivered in collaboration with Qualcomm, will improve the upload speeds experienced by customers by around 100%. Fibocom and pSemi\u2019s products will further boost the performance of 5G mmWave for private networks and other high-capacity scenarios.
