Orange has signed a contract extension with Nokia to upgrade its 5G radio infrastructure in France. The agreement includes a trial of Nokia’s cloud RAN solution to assess the operator\u2019s potential transition to the technology. Separately, AT&T has announced a multi-year contract extension with Nokia, through which Nokia will support the operator in evolving its voice core offering and assist with its network automation efforts. Meanwhile, Ericsson and Huawei have made notable recent announcements in relation to supporting 5G-Advanced activities in Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the GSMA Intelligence Network Transformation Survey 2025<\/a> , 5G-Advanced has become a key focus area for operators, with 88% of operators viewing the technology as \u2018extremely\u2019 or \u2018very\u2019 important. Recent announcements from Malaysia demonstrate that this interest is translating into trials and commercial deployments. In addition to 5G-Advanced, operators are also investing in other technology priorities. Nokia\u2019s recent agreements with Orange and AT&T, for example, highlight the increasing significance of cloud and automation technologies in operators\u2019 network transformation plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
