GSMA provides submission to TRAI on extending broadband penetration

The GSMA has responded to a consultation paper from the Indian telecom regulator, TRAI, on rapidly improving broadband penetration in India. Particular emphasis was placed on urgently licensing the 2100MHz band as well as agreeing a roadmap for releasing the 700MHz band. The GSMA also highlighted longer-term future mobile broadband spectrum requirements and the bands that should be considered at the World Radiocommunication Conference in 2015.
