GSMA urges new Indian government to prioritise the release of additional spectrum for mobile services

The GSMA has written to the new Ministry of Telecommunications in India to prioritise the release of additional spectrum for mobile services to meet the rising demand for data and boost mobile broadband growth. A closed-door industry meeting with the Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications, led by the GSMA, was held on 29th May to present an industry proposal to license the additional spectrum in various bands.
