GSMA works with operators to advise the Brazilian regulator ahead of the 700MHz auction

The GSMA has recently responded to the 700MHz spectrum auction consultation in Brazil. The auction concluded on 30th September with the total raised reaching USD 2.39 billion (BRL 5.8 billion), which excludes an extra USD 1.47 billion cost (BRL 3.6 billion) to be paid by the operators for the clearing of the band. The regulator, ANATEL, failed to attract enough bidders leaving part of the spectrum unsold.
