Social and economic benefits of using the lower portion of the UHF band for IMT in Latin America image

This report from Telecom Advisory Services LLC assesses the socio-economic benefits of using the lower portion of the UHF band for IMT-based mobile broadband in Latin America. It concludes that this could extend the reach and lower the cost of mobile broadband services thus supporting new subscribers. It would also provide significant additional economic benefits including injecting US$49 billion into the Latin American economy as well as 47,000 new jobs, US$49 billion in additional government revenues and a consumer surplus of almost US$4 billion.
