Mats Granryd, Director General GSMA attended the Transform Africa Summit this year in Kigali, Rwanda. Besides participating in the Broadband Commission meeting, he also took part in a panel during the summit titled: Digital Identity, Connectivity and Regulators.
“Operators in SSA will invest $23b in the next 2 years. However, they need harmonized spectrum, reduction in sector specific taxation, smoother way of getting permits to build towers & harmonized privacy data regulation,” he said.
