Google Home Session
GSMA partnered with ChickTech, a non-profit organziation committed to comprehensive programs to immersing underprivileged girls with technology for these student participants. In this workshop, a group of 12 girls (middle and high-school) were given a task of creating a home personal assistant utilizing a Raspberry Pi. The first half of the session was the physical assembly of the Google Home with the use of the Raspberry Pi. After the assembly, the girls programmed and personalized their Google Homes through desktop computers with the Google Cloud Platform. Cricket Wireless provided donation of smartphones for each of the girl participants.
