Welcome to your Q2 round-up from the GSMA 5G Futures Community.

Following an exciting and busy week at MWC Shanghai at the end of last month, I’m excited to share with you the latest news and insights from the community.

My personal highlights in this edition include the launch of the Non-Terrestrial Networks – Opportunities and Challenges whitepaper. Developed in collaboration with over 20 leading mobile operators, satellite operators, equipment vendors and ecosystem partners, the whitepaper delves into the role of satellite-terrestrial integration in the future of global connectivity.

My second highlight includes last months community webinar, AI in Mobile Networks: From Optimisation to AI Readiness, where we were joined by experts from China Mobile, InterDigital, LG U+, MediaTek Inc. and Vivo who discussed the evolution from traditional, task-specific AI to Agentic AI, where autonomous agents interact intelligently with the network environment.

We hope you find this edition insightful and valuable.
Kind regards,
Henry Calvert,
Head of Networks, GSMA
