Kano Computer Session
GSMA partnered with the Atlanta Girls’ School in addition to various other local Atlanta schools to host a workshop for 24 girls to build, code, and program Kano Kit computers. During the workshop, girls were taught specifically how to use visual programming to create artwork (Kano’s Make Art) and to produce animated stories (Kano’s Scratch). The girls were taught both ‘Make Art’ and ‘Scratch’ exercises through the guidance of an in-person instructor. Stephanie Epsy, author of STEM Gems, Chemical Engineer, Founder of MathSP, welcomed the girls as opening keynote speaker.
