Roy Lim
Founder and CEO, Robocore
After earning three Bachelor degrees and a Master degree in Computer Engineering, and working as a programmer for 4 years in USA, Mr Lim returned in 2011 to join Tung Hing Automation. He reorganised the technical personnel and increased the Company’s R&D investments, and led Tung Hing to embark on new technological advancements. Various products of cutting-edge technologies have been developed, for example, a patented polishing machine with pressure control system; A.I. manufacturing solutions and robotic products have brought new impetus to Tung Hing.
In 2012, Mr Lim set up L2F Incorporation, a system integration company focusing on developing high-tech automation solutions. L2F’s grit and high-flying profile have earned challenging contracts from customers such as Tesla, SpaceX and Apple, and its revenue has multiplied by 17 times in 3 years. Middleby, the largest food machinery company in USA, has acquired L2F for nearly HK$100 million in 2017. Mr Lim serves as the Chief Representative of the Asia-Pacific region following the acquisition.
Mr. Lim has been instrumental in integrating cutting-edge technologies globally, with a focus on medical and service automation. He invested in HandyRehab, a robotic hand designed to rehabilitate stroke patients, achieving up to 90% mobility recovery. Additionally, Mr. Lim founded Robocore, a robotics solutions company that became the leading seller of robots in Hong Kong within five years. Robocore recently acquired Temi, an Israeli robotics firm, and successfully integrated open-platform robots, universal elevator systems, and robot management systems into a comprehensive solution, resulting in the sale of over 10,000 robots across 33 countries.
Mr Lim is currently the Treasurer of the Young Industrialist Council of Hong Kong, Vice Chairman of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Alliance, Vice Chairman of the Youth Executive Council of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the ExCom of Hong Kong Automation and Technology Council, as well as a panel member in the Innovation and Technology Board of HKTDC.
